Friday Awwww Moment

Pix one is the Permed Dachshund at her favorite resting spot. You will note that she is never completely at ease, but always ready to protect us at a moment's notice.

Pix two is when she noticed me taking a pix of her. At that moment, she channeled her inner-German Shepherd and went into full-guard-dog-mode.

Yep, I do know these pix are soft, but I took them with my dinky phone camera, which has no flash. And yes, I do know that red and green throws don't look good together (my sister would be horrified that I put these on the internet), but, while photographing from a languid & relaxed position, I was covered up with the throw that matches the red and white throw. I love being warm much more than I love being fashion-coordinated. That being the case, I stack throws on the end of my sofa to ward off the snowballs when The Husband turns the thermostat down again.

Cute German Shephard. I have two Chihuahua's that think, well, one thinks he's a pit bull, the other a Rottweiler. I don't have the heart to tell them they're only 10 inches high. It's my fault really, I always treated them like they were big dogs.

Funny, Anne, the Permed Dachshund's nickname is Chihuahua. Boy, I can't imagine our three dogs in the same room together!

Aw, he's adorable! I love dogs. I have two German Shepherds, so I know all about the guard-dog mode. Actually, they ARE guard dogs, but I spoil them shamelessly so I call them my pets ;)

Great pics. Love the show off dog. We also have tons of blankets and throws throughout the lounging areas of our home.

Thanks, y'all, for the kind remarks. I'd tell the Permed Dachshund, but then she'd get a big head and we WOULD have trouble! The Husband keeps her ego trimmed by saying, frequently, "You're so ugly, you're cute."

Mia, if I ever get another big dog, it will be a German Shepherd. We had a Collie for years, and I loved that dog. I understand that German Shepherds have very similar personalities (despite the guard dog rep), but a LOT less hair to deal with.

Cute dog!
We used to have a Labrador who had a vicious guard dog act for people outside the gate.
Of course if they stepped inside she assumed they must have been invited. The biggest danger they were in was from a wildly swinging lab tail.
