I'm shocked, I tell ya!

Shocked at how many good things have happened this week!

1) My new proposal has been with my editor for, lemme see, just over 41 hours (but who's counting?) and she hasn't e-mailed me back with, "You're kidding, right? Send me the real proposal."

2) The Kiddo won Third Place in a regional writing competition (we're talking 40 schools, folks) for an essay about a hero in her life.

3) Turns out, that hero? It's me! (The Husband is pouting about this.)

4) Tomorrow, thanks to my CP Tawna Fenske, we will have an impromptu blog chain about how we write -- and I'm joined by some phenomenally talented writers: Tawna, Sean Ferrell (who is repped by THE Janet Reid and has a book, NUMB, coming out this fall. Go. Preorder. NOW.), Linda Grimes (who is repped by THE Michelle Wolfson), Nelsa Roberto (whose book ILLEGALLY BLONDE is out now. Go. Order. NOW.), and Kiersten White (whose book PARANORMALCY may just make us all say, Stephanie who?? Go. Preorder. NOW.)

We'll all be taking turns on our own blogs, telling you how we do what we do. So stay tuned!

Looks like those writing talents run in the family. Congratulations.

Paul, I am ashamed to say that The Kiddo's motivation to write is so that she can "sell some books and you won't have to work so hard, Mommy. And then you can play with me!"

*guilty look*

But I am proud of her!

Toby, thanks on the congrats on the hero status. The Husband may never get over the slight! ;-) And, yes, I've had a sneak-peek of posts on our blog chain ahead of time, and they are FANTABULOUS!!!

(Yeah, I know. Not a word. But it should be!)

Congratulations, hero! You must be a great mom. :)

And I am already biting my nails about tomorrow's blog chain.

Jen, I did have a stellar week. It actually came to a screeching halt this morning when I realized the check I thought I'd written for The Kiddo's yearbook ... wasn't.

Today, she probably wouldn't be nominating me for HeroMom of the Year, as she didn't get a yearbook when all her friends did. :-(

Lola, I'm pumped, too! Of course, all this coolness is strictly because of the evah-cool Tawna. :-)

Linda, hush up. You'll make autocratic side come out. And you already have been intro'd to THAT side!

Thanks for stopping by Ink Spells! Southern Romance - that sounds like all kinds of nice! :)

The Kiddo sure knows the way to your heart!

And I'm going to have to stop back for the writing blogger fest! Sounds awesome!

Was there a subliminal message there?;) I hope your editor's going to love your proposal (I'm sure she will) and congrats to your kid! I'd love to see the blog chain!:D

I'm glad you're having a good week! Congrats to you and to the Kiddo!

That story about the Kiddo's motivation is too cute... kids know how to break your heart, huh?

Susan, I'm just sorry it took me this long to find your blog ... so little time to blog, so many great blogs like yours!

Drat, Sarah, I knew there was something I forgot -- the subliminal message l I was supposed to embed in my digital version of THE PREACHER'S WIDOW. It was supposed nano-flash BUY ME as she read the pages. Oh, well, next time. ;-)

Nelsa, you were born a worrier, weren't you? You worry even more than me, and THAT'S saying something! But hey, I love you for it! (And for saying I'm a great mom. Boy, do I ever need to hear that!)

Guinevere, kids must come with guilt-evoking instructions in their DNA -- either that, or my mom's curse that I would get one JUST LIKE ME is coming true.

Hmm. If that's the case, then I must not have been such a bad kid, because The Kiddo is a marvel. (Not that I'm biased or anything!)
